Mentors and Tutors

You can make a direct impact on a student experiencing homelessness, by volunteering as a tutor or mentor!

Become a Tutor

Do you have a talent for tutoring? Become a volunteer tutor and help a student experiencing homelessness succeed in school. Just one hour a week of either virtual or in-person tutoring makes a big difference for a student. After completing the application process and getting approved, you will be matched with a student based on your availability, location, and tutoring skillset.

Become a Mentor

Can you help a student reach their full potential? Volunteer Mentors serve as a role model for a student experiencing homelessness, between 7-18 years old. Your weekly visit with your mentee may include activities such as a walking in the park, job shadowing, helping with school work or just talking about what’s going on. You will be matched with a mentee based on your preference on age, gender, and location.

Mentor and Tutor Requirements:

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Be able to commit as a volunteer for once a week for at least 1 year
  • Be able to pass a background check
  • Reside in Orange County
